Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. ELIMINATION OF AUTOMATIC PAY ADJUSTMENTS 1 FOR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS. 2 (a) IN GENERAL.—Paragraph (2) of section 601(a) 3 of the Legislative Reorganization Act of 1946 (2 U.S.C. 4 4501(2)) is repealed. 5 (b) CONFORMING AMENDMENTS.—Section 601(a)(1) 6 of such Act (2 U.S.C. 4501) is amended— 7 (1) by striking ‘‘(a)(1)’’ and inserting ‘‘(a)’’; 8 (2) by redesignating subparagraphs (A), (B), 9 and (C) as paragraphs (1), (2), and (3), respectively; 10 and 11 (3) by striking ‘‘, as adjusted by paragraph (2) 12 of this subsection’’. 13 SEC. 3.
