Mr. CLEAVER (for himself, Mr. GRAVES of Missouri, Ms. DAVIDS of Kansas,
Mr. ALFORD, Mr. MANN, Mr. ESTES, and Mr. SMITH of Missouri) sub-
mitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on
Oversight and Accountability
RESOLUTION
Congratulating the Kansas City Chiefs on their victory in
Super Bowl LVII.
Whereas, on February 12, 2023, the Kansas City Chiefs de-
feated the Philadelphia Eagles by a score of 38 to 35,
winning Super Bowl LVII at State Farm Stadium in
Glendale, Arizona;
Whereas this is the third championship for the Chiefs in
franchise history, as well as the second Super Bowl win
for the Chiefs in 4 years;
Whereas Patrick Lavon Mahomes II was named Super Bowl
Most Valuable Player for the second time, leading the
team to victory despite an injured ankle;

Whereas this was a historic Super Bowl, with the first time
ever that a Super Bowl featured two Black starting quar-
terbacks in both Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts;
Whereas Nick Bolton, a former star at the University of Mis-
souri, recovered a fumble and returned it 36 yards for a
game-tying touchdown, becoming the first former Mizzou
player to score a touchdown in the Super Bowl;
Whereas the Chiefs trailed by 10 points at halftime but con-
tinued their push toward victory;
Whereas Patrick Mahomes led 3 straight touchdown drives
beginning in the third quarter;
Whereas Kadarius Toney made a 65-yard punt return, which
is a new record in Super Bowl history;
Whereas Harrison Butker kicked a game-winning field goal
with 8 seconds remaining to put the Chiefs into the lead;
Whereas Andy Reid is now the 14th head coach to win at
least 2 Super Bowls;
Whereas each of the 55 players on the roster deserves rec-
ognition, including Nick Allegretti, Blake Bell, Nick
Bolton, Orlando Brown, Jr., Shane Buechele, Michael
Burton, Deon Bush, Harrison Butker, Leo Chenal,
Frank Clark, Jack Cochrane, Bryan Cook, Mike Danna,
