Committee on Oversight and Reform
A BILL
To amend title 5, United States Code, to eliminate the use
of official time by Federal employees.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Do Your Job Act of
4
2021’’.

SEC. 2. ELIMINATION OF OFFICIAL TIME.

(a) IN GENERAL.—Section 7131 of title 5, United
7
States Code, is amended to read as follows:

‘‘§ 7131. Elimination of official time

‘‘Any activities performed by an employee relating to
2
the business of a labor organization shall be performed
3
during the time the employee is in a non-duty status.’’.
4
(b) CLERICAL AMENDMENT.—The table of sections
5
for chapter 71 of title 5, United States Code, is amended
6
by striking the item relating to section 7131 and inserting
7
the following:

‘‘7131. Elimination of official time.’’.
