Mr. HUDSON introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Com-
mittee on the Judiciary, and in addition to the Committee on Education
and Labor, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker,
in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the juris-
diction of the committee concerned
A BILL
To increase authorization of the grant program for school
security in the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets
Act of 1968.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘STOP II: Classrooms
4
Over Conference Rooms Act’’.

SEC. 2. GRANT PROGRAM FOR SCHOOL SECURITY.

(a) IN GENERAL.—Section 2705 of the Omnibus
2
Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (34 U.S.C.
3
10555) is amended—
4
(1) by amending subsection (a) to read as fol-
5
lows:
6
‘‘(a) IN GENERAL.—There are authorized to be ap-
7
propriated $200,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2022
8
through 2028, of which, for each fiscal year—
9
‘‘(1) $133,333,333 shall be made available to
10
the BJA Director to carry out this part; and
11
‘‘(2) $66,666,667 shall be made available to the
12
COPS Director to carry out this part.’’; and
13
(2) in subsection (b) by adding at the end the
14
following: ‘‘Any funds appropriated under the Con-
15
solidated Appropriations Act of 2021, which may be
16
used for purposes of renting conference rooms in the
17
District of Columbia in carrying out the Department
18
of Education Organization Act shall instead be used
19
for the purposes in subsection (a).’’.
20
(b) AUTHORIZATION.—There are authorized to be ap-
21
propriated to carry out the Department of Education Or-
22
ganization Act, $270,000,000 (reduced by $270,000,000)
23
for fiscal year 2022.
