Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. CERTAIN QUALIFIED LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFI- 1 CERS AND RETIRED LAW ENFORCEMENT OF- 2 FICERS ALLOWED TO CARRY A CONCEALED 3 FIREARM, AND DISCHARGE A FIREARM, IN A 4 SCHOOL ZONE. 5 Section 922(q) of title 18, United States Code, is 6 amended— 7 (1) in paragraph (2)(B)— 8 (A) by striking ‘‘or’’ at the end of clause 9 (vi); and 10 (B) by redesignating clause (vii) as clause 11 (ix) and inserting after clause (vi) the following: 12 ‘‘(vii) by a qualified law enforcement offi- 13 cer (as defined in section 926B) who is author- 14 ized under such section to carry a concealed 15 firearm, if the firearm is concealed; 16 ‘‘(viii) by a qualified retired law enforce- 17 ment officer (as defined in section 926C) who 18 is authorized under such section to carry a con- 19 cealed firearm, if the firearm is concealed; or’’; 20 and 21 (2) in paragraph (3)(B)— 22 (A) by striking ‘‘or’’ at the end of clause 23 (iii); 24 (B) by striking the period at the end of 25 clause (iv) and inserting a semicolon; and 26 VerDate Sep 11 2014 23:45 Apr 17, 2021 Jkt 019200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H1567.IH H1567 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS 3 •HR 1567 IH (C) by adding at the end the following: 1 ‘‘(v) by a qualified law enforcement officer 2 (as defined in section 926B) who is authorized 3 under such section to carry a concealed firearm; 4 or 5 ‘‘(vi) by a qualified retired law enforcement 6 officer (as defined in section 926C) who is au- 7 thorized under such section to carry a concealed 8 firearm.’’. 9 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 23:45 Apr 17, 2021 Jkt 019200 PO 00000 Frm 00003 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H1567.IH H1567 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS
