To direct the Secretary of Defense to implement certain
recommendations regarding screening individuals who
seek to enlist in the Armed Forces.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Shielding our Military
4
from Extremists Act’’.

Not later than 180 days after the date of the enact-
5
ment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall implement
6
the seven recommendations of the Under Secretary of De-
7
fense for Personnel and Readiness on page 2 of the report
8
titled ‘‘Screening Individuals Who Seek to Enlist in the
9
Armed Forces’’, submitted to the Committees on Armed
10
Services of the Senate and House of Representatives on
11
October 14, 2020.
