Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. PROVIDING FOR INFECTION CONTROL SUPPORT TO 1 SKILLED NURSING FACILITIES THROUGH 2 CONTRACTS WITH QUALITY IMPROVEMENT 3 ORGANIZATIONS. 4 Section 1862(g) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 5 1395y(g)) is amended— 6 (1) by striking ‘‘The Secretary’’ and inserting 7 ‘‘(1) The Secretary’’; and 8 (2) by adding at the end the following new 9 paragraph: 10 ‘‘(2) In addition to any amounts otherwise available, 11 there are appropriated to the Secretary, out of any monies 12 in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, 13 $200,000,000, to remain available until expended, for pur- 14 poses of carrying out infection control support (as deter- 15 mined appropriate by the Secretary) through the develop- 16 ment and dissemination of protocols relating to the pre- 17 vention or mitigation of COVID–19 in skilled nursing fa- 18 cilities (as defined in section 1819(a)).’’. 19 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 00:11 Mar 26, 2021 Jkt 019200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H1000.IH H1000 pamtmann on DSKBC07HB2PROD with BILLS
