A BILL
To amend title 28, United States Code, to expand the defini-
tion of ‘‘other institutions’’ for purposes of acquisition,
preservation, and exchange of identification records and
information, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. DEFINITION OF ‘‘OTHER INSTITUTIONS’’ EX-
3
PANDED.
4
Section 534(e) of title 28, United States Code, is
5
amended—
6
(1) in paragraph (1), by striking ‘‘and’’ at the
7
end;

(2) in paragraph (2), by striking the period at

the end; and

(3) by adding at the end the following:

‘‘(3) police departments serving census-des-
4
ignated private resorts which perform the adminis-
5
tration of criminal justice and have arrest powers
6
pursuant to a State statute, which allocate a sub-
7
stantial part of their annual budget to the adminis-
8
tration of criminal justice, and which meet training
9
requirements established by law or ordinance for law
10
enforcement officers.’’.
