Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. PROVISION OF HEALTH CARE BENEFITS FOR CER- 1 TAIN INDIVIDUALS WHO SERVED IN THE 2 ARMED FORCES OF THE REPUBLIC OF 3 KOREA. 4 Section 109 of title 38, United States Code, is 5 amended by adding at the end the following new sub- 6 section: 7 ‘‘(d)(1) Any person described in paragraph (2) shall 8 be entitled to hospital and domiciliary care and medical 9 services within the United States under chapter 17 of this 10 title to the same extent as if the service described in such 11 paragraph had been performed in the Armed Forces of 12 the United States. 13 ‘‘(2) A person described in this paragraph is a person 14 whom the Secretary determines meets the following cri- 15 teria: 16 ‘‘(A) The person served in Vietnam as a mem- 17 ber of the armed forces of the Republic of Korea at 18 any time during the period beginning on January 9, 19 1962, and ending on May 7, 1975, or such other pe- 20 riod as determined appropriate by the Secretary for 21 purposes of this subsection. 22 ‘‘(B) The person became a citizen of the United 23 States on or after the date on which such service in 24 the armed forces of the Republic of Korea ended.’’. 25 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 05:40 Feb 05, 2021 Jkt 019200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H234.IH H234 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS
