A BILL
To amend title 18, United States Code, to provide United
States Secret Service protection to former Vice Presi-
dents, their spouses, and their children under 16, and
for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Protecting Vice Presi-
4
dents Act’’.

SEC. 2. SECRET SERVICE PROTECTION TO FORMER VICE

PRESIDENTS, THEIR SPOUSES, AND THEIR

CHILDREN UNDER AGE OF 16.

Section 3056(a)(8) of title 18, United States Code,
4
is amended to read as follows:
5
‘‘(8) Former Vice Presidents, their spouses, and
6
their children who are under 16 years of age, except
7
that protection of a spouse shall terminate in the
8
event of remarriage.’’.
