To amend title 10, United States Code, to make certain
improvements to services and benefits for veterans and
separating members of the Armed Forces with respect
to apprenticeship programs, and for other purposes.

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Bringing Registered
2
Apprenticeships to Veterans Education Act’’ or the
3
‘‘BRAVE Act’’.

SEC. 2. EDUCATION FOR SEPARATING MEMBERS OF THE
5
ARMED FORCES REGARDING REGISTERED
6
APPRENTICESHIPS.

Section 1144(b)(1) of title 10, United States Code,
8
is amended by inserting ‘‘(including apprenticeship pro-
9
grams registered under the Act of August 16, 1937 (50
10
Stat. 664; commonly referred to as the ‘National Appren-
11
ticeship Act’) and approved under chapters 30 through 36
12
of title 38)’’ after ‘‘employment opportunities’’.

SEC. 3. WEBSITES REGARDING APPRENTICESHIP PRO-
14
GRAMS.

(a) WEBSITE UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF SEC-
16
RETARY OF LABOR.—The Assistant Secretary of Labor
17
for Veterans’ Employment and Training, in coordination
18
with the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, shall establish a
19
user-friendly website (or update an existing website) that
20
is available to the public on which veterans can find infor-
21
mation about apprenticeship programs registered under
22
the Act of August 16, 1937 (50 Stat. 664; commonly re-
23
ferred to as the ‘‘National Apprenticeship Act’’) and ap-
24
proved under chapters 30 through 36 of title 38, United
25
States Code. Such information shall be searchable and

sortable by occupation and location, and include, with re-

gard to each such program, the following:

(1) A description, including any cost to a vet-
3
eran.
4
(2) Contact information.
5
(3) Whether the program has been endorsed by
6
a veterans service organization or nonprofit organi-
7
zation that caters to veterans.
8
(4) Whether the program prefers to hire vet-
9
erans.
10
(5) Each certification or degree an individual
11
earns by completing the program.
12
(b) COORDINATION WITH OTHER WEBSITE.—The
13
Assistant Secretary shall update all information regarding
14
programs for veterans listed on apprenticeship.gov (or any
15
successor website) to include the information specified
16
under subsection (a).

SEC. 4. DETERMINATION OF BUDGETARY EFFECTS.
18
The budgetary effects of this Act, for the purpose of
19
complying with the Statutory Pay-As-You-Go Act of 2010,
20
shall be determined by reference to the latest statement
21
titled ‘‘Budgetary Effects of PAYGO Legislation’’ for this
22
Act, submitted for printing in the Congressional Record
23
by the Chairman of the House Budget Committee, pro-
