A concurrent resolution to provide for the counting on January 6, 2021, of the electoral votes for President and Vice President of the United States.

117TH CONGRESS 1ST SESSION S. CON. RES. 1 CONCURRENT RESOLUTION Resolved by the Senate (the House of Representatives 1 concurring), That the two Houses of Congress shall meet 2 in the Hall of the House of Representatives on Wednes- 3 day, the 6th day of January 2021, at 1 0’clock post merid- 4 ian, pursuant to the requirements of the Constitution and 5 laws relating to the election of President and Vice Presi- 6 dent of the United States, and the President of the Senate 7 shall be their Presiding Officer; that two tellers shall be 8 previously appointed by the President of the Senate on 9 the part of the Senate and two by the Speaker on the 10 part of the House of Representatives, to whom shall be 11 handed, as they are opened by the President of the Senate, 12 all the certificates and papers purporting to be certificates 13 of the electoral votes, which certificates and papers shall 14 be opened, presented, and acted upon in the alphabetical 15 order of the States, beginning with the letter ‘‘A’’; and 16 said tellers, having then read the same in the presence 17 and hearing of the two Houses, shall make a list of the 18 votes as they shall appear from said certificates; and the 19 2 † SCON 1 ES votes having been ascertained and counted in the manner 1 and according to the rules by law provided, the result of 2 the same shall be delivered to the President of the Senate, 3 who shall thereupon announce the state of the vote, which 4 announcement shall be deemed a sufficient declaration of 5 the persons, if any, elected President and Vice President 6 of the United States, and together with a list of the votes, 7 be entered on the Journals of the two Houses. 8 Passed the Senate January 3, 2021.
