Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Alzheimer’s Account-
4
ability and Investment Act’’.
5
SEC. 2. EXTENSION OF PROJECT.
6
Section 2 of the National Alzheimer’s Project Act (42
7
U.S.C. 11225) is amended—
8
(1) by redesignating subsection (h) as sub-
9
section (i); and
10
(2) by inserting after subsection (g) the fol-
11
lowing:

‘‘(h) PROFESSIONAL JUDGMENT BUDGET.—For fis-
13
cal year 2024 and each subsequent fiscal year, the Direc-
14
tor of the National Institutes of Health shall prepare and
15
submit, directly to the President for review and trans-
16
mittal to Congress, after reasonable opportunity for com-
17
ment, but without change, by the Secretary of Health and
18
Human Services and the Advisory Council, an annual
19
budget estimate for the initiatives of the National Insti-
20
tutes of Health pursuant to the reports and recommenda-
21
tions made under this Act, including an estimate of the
22
number and type of personnel needs for the National In-
23
stitutes of Health.’’.
