SHORT TITLE. 1 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Congressional Award 2 Program Reauthorization Act of 2023’’. 3 SEC. 2. TERMINATION. 4 (a) IN GENERAL.—Section 108 of the Congressional 5 Award Act (2 U.S.C. 808) is amended by striking ‘‘Octo- 6 ber 1, 2023’’ and inserting ‘‘October 1, 2028’’. 7 (b) RETROACTIVE EFFECTIVE DATE.—If this Act is 8 enacted after October 1, 2023, the amendment made by 9 subsection (a) shall take effect as if enacted on October 10 1, 2023. 11 SEC. 3. OTHER AMENDMENTS. 12 Section 102 of the Congressional Award Act (2 13 U.S.C. 802) is amended— 14 (1) in subsection (a), by striking ‘‘Each medal 15 shall consist of gold-plate over bronze, rhodium over 16 bronze, or bronze and shall be struck in accordance 17 with subsection (f).’’; and 18 (2) in subsection (f)(1), in the second sentence, 19 by striking ‘‘Subject to subsection (a), the’’ and in- 20 serting ‘‘The’’. 21 Passed the Senate December 4, 2023.
