To direct each State with an outstanding balance in excess
of $1,000,000,000, as of January 1, 2023, of advances
from the Federal unemployment account to submit to
the Secretary of Labor a report detailing how such State
intends to repay such advances.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Unemployment Trust
4
Fund Accountability Act’’.

SEC. 2. STATE REPORT ON REPAYMENT OF DEBTS TO UN-

EMPLOYMENT TRUST FUND.

Not later than 90 days after the date of enactment
3
of this Act, each State with an outstanding balance in ex-
4
cess of $1,000,000,000, as of January 1, 2023, of ad-
5
vances from the Federal unemployment account in the
6
Unemployment Trust Fund under section 1201 of the So-
7
cial Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1321) shall submit to Con-
8
gress and the Secretary of Labor a report detailing how
9
such State intends to repay such advances.
