A BILL
To provide for the expansion of the Starr-Camargo Bridge
near Rio Grande City, Texas, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Starr–Camargo Bridge
4
Expansion Act’’.
5
SEC. 2. STARR–CAMARGO BRIDGE.
6
(a) AUTHORIZATION.—The first section of Public
7
Law 87–532 (76 Stat. 153; 130 Stat. 411) is amended—
8
(1) in subsection (a)(2)—

(A) by inserting ‘‘and expand’’ after ‘‘con-

struct’’;

(B) by inserting ‘‘, including the expansion

and addition of adjacent spans to the existing
4
international bridge,’’ after ‘‘thereto’’;
5
(C) by inserting ‘‘multimodal toll’’ after
6
‘‘14’’;
7
(D) by striking ‘‘to maintain’’ and insert-
8
ing ‘‘and to maintain, control,’’; and
9
(E) by striking ‘‘such bridge’’ and insert-
10
ing ‘‘those bridges’’; and
11
(2) in subsection (b), in the matter preceding
12
paragraph (1), by inserting ‘‘expansion,’’ after ‘‘con-
13
struction,’’.

(b) RIGHTS OF STARR–CAMARGO BRIDGE COMPANY
15
AND SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS.—Section 3(a) of Public
16
Law 87–532 (76 Stat. 153; 130 Stat. 411) is amended
17
by inserting ‘‘, as needed for the location, construction,
18
expansion, control, operation, and maintenance of the
19
bridges referred to in subsection (a)(2) at or near Rio
20
Grande City, Texas’’ after ‘‘chapter 466)’’.

(c) SUNSET.—Section 5 of Public Law 87–532 (76
22
Stat. 153; 130 Stat. 411) is amended—

(1) by inserting ‘‘by the Starr–Camargo Bridge

Company and its successors and assigns’’ after
2
‘‘constructed’’;
3
(2) by striking ‘‘three’’ and inserting ‘‘60’’;
4
(3) by striking ‘‘five’’ and inserting ‘‘65’’; and
5
(4) by striking ‘‘date of enactment of this Act’’
6
and inserting ‘‘date of enactment of the Starr–
7
Camargo Bridge Expansion Act’’.

(d) SAVINGS PROVISION.—Nothing in this section or
9
the amendments made by this section—
10
(1) grants new rights or duties to the San Be-
11
nito International Bridge Company (known as the
12
‘‘Free Trade International Bridge’’ as of the date of
13
enactment of this Act); or
14
(2) alters, repeals, or voids any rights or duties
15
held by the San Benito International Bridge Com-
16
pany (known as the ‘‘Free Trade International
17
Bridge’’ as of the date of enactment of this Act)
18
under Public Law 87–532 (76 Stat. 153; 130 Stat.
19
411), as in effect on the day before the date of en-
20
actment of this Act.
