A BILL
To require the Comptroller General of the United States
to study and report on the extent and effects of the
commercial aviation pilot shortage on regional/commuter
carriers.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Sustain Regional Air
4
Travel Act’’.

COMMERCIAL
AVIATION

PILOT SHORTAGE ON REGIONAL/COMMUTER

CARRIERS.

(a) STUDY.—The Comptroller General of the United
5
States (in this section referred to as the ‘‘Comptroller
6
General’’) shall conduct a study to identify the extent and
7
effects of the commercial aviation pilot shortage on re-
8
gional/commuter carriers (as such term is defined in sec-
9
tion 41719(d) of title 49, United States Code).

(b) REPORT.—Not later than 12 months after the
11
date of enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General
12
shall submit to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and
13
Transportation of the Senate and the Committee on
14
Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Rep-
15
resentatives a report containing the results of the study
16
conducted under subsection (a), together with rec-
17
ommendations for such legislation and administrative ac-
18
tion as the Comptroller General determines appropriate.
