and 6 (2) by adding at the end the following: 7 ‘‘(38) The term ‘semiautomatic pistol’ means any re- 8 peating pistol that— 9 ‘‘(A) utilizes a portion of the energy of a firing 10 cartridge to extract the fired cartridge case and 11 chamber the next round; and 12 ‘‘(B) requires a separate pull of the trigger to 13 fire each cartridge. 14 ‘‘(39) The term ‘semiautomatic shotgun’ means any 15 repeating shotgun that— 16 ‘‘(A) utilizes a portion of the energy of a firing 17 cartridge to extract the fired cartridge case and 18 chamber the next round; and 2 ‘‘(B) does not include— 3 ‘‘(i) a slide that partially or completely en- 4 closes the barrel; or 5 ‘‘(ii) an extension of the stock along the 6 bottom of the barrel which does not encircle or 7 substantially encircle the barrel. 8 ‘‘(41) The term ‘detachable ammunition feeding de- 9 vice’ means an ammunition feeding device that can be re- 10 moved from a firearm without disassembly of the firearm 11 action. 12 ‘‘(42) The term ‘fixed ammunition feeding device’ 13 means an ammunition feeding device that is permanently 14 fixed to the firearm in such a manner that it cannot be 15 removed without disassembly of the firearm. 16 ‘‘(43) The term ‘folding, telescoping, or detachable 17 stock’ means a stock that folds, telescopes, detaches or 18 otherwise operates to reduce the length, size, or any other 19 dimension, or otherwise enhances the concealability, of a 20 firearm. 21 ‘‘(44) The term ‘forward grip’ means a grip located 22 forward of the trigger that functions as a pistol grip. 23 VerDate Sep 11 2014 01:57 May 20, 2023 Jkt 039200 PO 00000 Frm 00014 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H3155.IH H3155 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS 15 •HR 3155 IH ‘‘(45) The term ‘grenade launcher’ means an attach- 1 ment for use on a firearm that is designed to propel a 2 grenade or other similar destructive device. 3 ‘‘(46) The term ‘pistol grip’ means a grip, a thumb- 4 hole stock or Thordsen-type grip or stock, or any other 5 characteristic that can function as a grip. 6 ‘‘(47) The term ‘threaded barrel’ means a feature or 7 characteristic that is designed in such a manner to allow 8 for the attachment of a device such as a firearm silencer 9 or a flash suppressor. 10 ‘‘(48) The term ‘belt-fed semiautomatic firearm’ 11 means any repeating firearm that— 12 ‘‘(A) utilizes a portion of t [Text truncated for display.
