Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Helping Invest in Key 4 Environments Act’’ or the ‘‘HIKE Act’’. 5 SEC. 2. BOUNDARY ADJUSTMENT. 6 Section 507(c) of the National Parks and Recreation 7 Act of 1978 (16 U.S.C. 460kk(c)) is amended by striking 8 paragraph (1) and inserting the following: 9 ‘‘(1) BOUNDARY.— 10 VerDate Sep 11 2014 02:40 May 05, 2023 Jkt 039200 PO 00000 Frm 00001 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H2887.IH H2887 pbinns on DSKJLVW7X2PROD with $$_JOB 2 •HR 2887 IH ‘‘(A) IN GENERAL.—The recreation area 1 shall consist of— 2 ‘‘(i) the land, water, and interests in 3 land and water generally depicted as the 4 recreation area on the map entitled ‘Santa 5 Monica Mountains National Recreation 6 Area and Santa Monica Mountains Zone, 7 California, Boundary Map’, numbered 8 80,047–C, and dated August 2001; and 9 ‘‘(ii) the land, water, and interests in 10 land and water, as generally depicted as 11 ‘Proposed Addition’ on the map entitled 12 ‘Rim of the Valley Unit—Santa Monica 13 Mountains National Recreation Area’, 14 numbered 638/147,723, and dated March, 15 2022. 16 ‘‘(B) AVAILABILITY OF MAPS.—The maps 17 described in subparagraph (A) shall be on file 18 and available for public inspection in the appro- 19 priate offices of the National Park Service. 20 ‘‘(C) REVISIONS.—After advising the Com- 21 mittee on Energy and Natural Resources of the 22 Senate and the Committee on Natural Re- 23 sources of the House of Representatives, in 24 writing, of the proposed revision, the Secretary 25 VerDate Sep 11 2014 02:40 May 05, 2023 Jkt 039200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H2887.IH H2887 pbinns on DSKJLVW7X2PROD with $$_JOB 3 •HR 2887 IH may make minor revisions to the boundaries of 1 the recreation area by publication of a revised 2 drawing or other boundary description in the 3 Federal Register.’’. 4 SEC. 3. ADMINISTRATION. 5 Any land or interest in land acquired by the Secretary 6 of the Interior within the Rim of the Valley Unit shall 7 be administered as part of the Santa Monica Mountains 8 National Recreation Area (referred to in this Act as the 9 ‘‘National Recreation Area’’) in accordance with the laws 10 (including regulations) applicable to the National Recre- 11 ation Area. 12 SEC. 4.
