PROTECTING INDIAN TRIBES FROM UNFAIR OR DE- 1 CEPTIVE ACTS OR PRACTICES. 2 (a) FTC REPORT ON UNFAIR OR DECEPTIVE ACTS 3 OR PRACTICES TARGETING INDIAN TRIBES.—Not later 4 than 1 year after the date of the enactment of this Act, 5 and after consultation with Indian Tribes, the Commission 6 shall make publicly available on the website of the Com- 7 mission and submit to the Committee on Energy and Com- 8 merce of the House of Representatives and the Committee 9 on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate 10 a report on unfair or deceptive acts or practices targeted 11 at Indian Tribes or members of Indian Tribes, including— 12 (1) a description of the types of unfair or de- 13 ceptive acts or practices identified by the Commis- 14 sion as being targeted at Indian Tribes or members 15 of Indian Tribes; 16 (2) a description of the consumer education ac- 17 tivities of the Commission with respect to such acts 18 or practices; 19 (3) a description of the efforts of the Commis- 20 sion to collaborate with Indian Tribes to prevent 21 such acts or practices or to pursue persons using 22 such acts or practices; 23 (4) a summary of the enforcement actions 24 taken by the Commission related to such acts or 25 practices; and 26 VerDate Sep 11 2014 22:20 Sep 04, 2020 Jkt 099200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H8127.IH H8127 pbinns on DSKJLVW7X2PROD with BILLS 3 •HR 8127 IH (5) any recommendations for legislation to pre- 1 vent such acts or practices. 2 (b) INCREASING AWARENESS OF UNFAIR OR DECEP- 3 TIVE ACTS OR PRACTICES TARGETING INDIAN TRIBES.— 4 Not later than 6 months after the date of the submission 5 of the report required by subsection (a), the Commission 6 shall update the website of the Commission to include in- 7 formation for consumers and businesses on identifying 8 and avoiding unfair or deceptive acts or practices targeted 9 at Indian Tribes or members of Indian Tribes. 10 (c) COMMISSION DEFINED.—In this section, the term 11 ‘‘Commission’’ means the Federal Trade Commission. 12 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 22:20 Sep 04, 2020 Jkt 099200 PO 00000 Frm 00003 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H8127.IH H8127 pbinns on DSKJLVW7X2PROD with BILLS
