A BILL
To amend the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal
Year 2020 to direct the Secretary of Defense to include
a description of programs to address and reduce the
stigma associated with seeking assistance for mental
health or suicidal thoughts in a report.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Military Mental Health
4
Stigma Reduction Act’’.

Section 741(a)(2) of the National Defense Authoriza-

tion Act for Fiscal Year 2020 (Public Law 116–92; 133
5
Stat. 1467) is amended by adding at the end the following
6
new subparagraph:

‘‘(J) A description of the programs carried
8
out by the military departments to address and
9
reduce the stigma associated with seeking as-
10
sistance
for
mental
health
or
suicidal
11
thoughts.’’.
