National Strategy for Pandemic Influenza Update Act

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. UPDATING AND IMPLEMENTATION OF NATIONAL 1 STRATEGY FOR PANDEMIC INFLUENZA. 2 (a) UPDATE OF NATIONAL STRATEGY.—Not later 3 than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, 4 the Homeland Security Council of the White House and 5 the National Security Council, in consultation with the 6 heads of appropriate Federal departments and agencies 7 responsible for biodefense, shall update the National 8 Strategy for Pandemic Influenza issued by the Homeland 9 Security Council in November 2005. 10 (b) UPDATE OF IMPLEMENTATION PLAN.—Not later 11 than 180 days after the update of the 2005 National 12 Strategy for Pandemic Influenza required under sub- 13 section (a), the Homeland Security Council and the Na- 14 tional Security Council shall update the implementation 15 plan associated with the 2005 National Strategy to imple- 16 ment such updated National Strategy. 17 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 02:51 Jan 31, 2020 Jkt 099200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H5730.IH H5730 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS
