AN ACT
To require the Federal Communications Commission to in-
corporate data on maternal health outcomes into its
broadband health maps.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Data Mapping to Save
2
Moms’ Lives Act’’.

SEC. 2. MAPPING BROADBAND CONNECTIVITY AND MATER-
4
NAL HEALTH OUTCOMES.

(a) INCORPORATION OF MATERNAL HEALTH OUT-
6
COME DATA.—The Federal Communications Commission
7
shall incorporate data on maternal health outcomes for not
8
less than 1 year postpartum, as recommended by the Cen-
9
ters for Disease Control and Prevention under subsection
10
(b), into the most recently available broadband health
11
mapping tools of the Commission.

(b) CONSULTATION WITH CDC.—The Federal Com-
13
munications Commission shall consult with the Centers for
14
Disease Control and Prevention regarding the maternal
15
health outcomes that should be incorporated into the most
16
recently available broadband health mapping tools of the
17
Commission under subsection (a).

SEC. 3. GAO STUDY.
19
Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment
20
of this Act, the Comptroller General of the United States
21
shall study and submit to Congress a report on—
22
(1) the effectiveness of internet connectivity in
23
reducing maternal morbidity rates; and

(2) who is best suited to take responsibility for

ensuring better internet connectivity to reduce ma-
2
ternal morbidity rates.
