Mr. MARKEY (for himself and Ms. WARREN) introduced the following bill;
which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Energy and Nat-
ural Resources
A BILL
To prohibit the construction of natural gas compressor sta-
tions as part of a project that would lead to or facilitate
natural gas exports.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Community Outreach,
4
Maintenance, and Preservation by Restricting Export Sta-
5
tions from Subverting Our Regulations Act’’ or the
6
‘‘COMPRESSOR Act’’.

SEC. 2. PROHIBITION ON CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN NAT-

URAL GAS COMPRESSOR STATIONS.

The construction and placement in service of any nat-
3
ural gas compressor station not in service on the date of
4
enactment of this Act shall be prohibited if the natural
5
gas compressor station would be constructed as part of
6
a project that, as determined by the Federal Energy Regu-
7
latory Commission, would—
8
(1) lead to the export of natural gas; or
9
(2) facilitate the export of natural gas.
