and for other purposes.

CRENSHAW, and Ms. BASS) introduced the following bill; which was re-
ferred to the Committee on Education and Labor
A BILL
To amend the Higher Education Act of 1965 to include
certain employment as a health care practitioner as eligi-
ble for public service loan forgiveness, and for other
purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. AMENDMENTS TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF
3
PUBLIC SERVICE LOAN FORGIVENESS.

Section 455(m)(3) of the Higher Education Act of
5
1965 (20 U.S.C. 1087e(m)(3)) is amended by adding at
6
the end the following:

‘‘(C) FULL-TIME
JOB
AS
HEALTH
CARE

PRACTITIONER.—For purposes of subparagraph
2
(B)(i), the term ‘full-time professionals engaged
3
in health care practitioner occupations’ includes
4
an individual who—
5
‘‘(i) has a full-time job as a health
6
care practitioner;
7
‘‘(ii) provides medical services in such
8
full-time job at a nonprofit hospital or pub-
9
lic hospital or other nonprofit or public
10
health care facility; and
11
‘‘(iii) is prohibited from being em-
12
ployed directly by such hospital or other
13
health care facility by State law.’’.
