Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. SCHOOL MEALS FOR FOSTER CHILDREN IN KIN- 1 SHIP CARE. 2 Section 9 of the Richard B. Russell National School 3 Lunch Act (42 U.S.C. 1758)— 4 (1) in subsection (b)— 5 (A) paragraph (5)(E)— 6 (i) in clause (i), by striking ‘‘or’’ at 7 the end; 8 (ii) in clause (ii), by striking the pe- 9 riod at the end and inserting ‘‘; or’’; and 10 (iii) by adding at the end the fol- 11 lowing: 12 ‘‘(iii) a child whose placement with a rel- 13 ative or family friend was carried out with the 14 involvement of an agency that administers a 15 State plan under part B or E of title IV of the 16 Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 621 et seq.), re- 17 gardless of whether such agency is responsible 18 for the care and placement of such child.’’; and 19 (B) in paragraph (12)(A)(vii)— 20 (i) in subclause (I), by striking ‘‘or’’ 21 at the end; 22 (ii) in subclause (II), by striking the 23 period and inserting ‘‘; or’’; and 24 (iii) by adding at the end the fol- 25 lowing: 26 VerDate Sep 11 2014 01:58 Sep 10, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H4259.IH H4259 pamtmann on DSKBC07HB2PROD with BILLS 3 •HR 4259 IH ‘‘(III) a child whose placement with a 1 relative or family friend was carried out 2 with the involvement of an agency that ad- 3 ministers a State plan under part B or E 4 of title IV of the Social Security Act (42 5 U.S.C. 621 et seq.), regardless of whether 6 such agency is responsible for the care and 7 placement of such child.’’; and 8 (2) in subsection (d)(2)(F)— 9 (A) in clause (i), by striking ‘‘or’’ at the 10 end; and 11 (B) by adding at the end the following: 12 ‘‘(iii) documentation has been provided to 13 the appropriate local educational agency show- 14 ing the status of the child as a child whose 15 placement with a relative or family friend was 16 carried out with the involvement of an agency 17 that administers a State plan under part B or 18 E of title IV of the Social Security Act (42 19 U.S.C. 621 et seq.), regardless of whether such 20 agency is responsible for the care and place- 21 ment of such child; or’’. 22 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 01:58 Sep 10, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00003 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H4259.IH H4259 pamtmann on DSKBC07HB2PROD with BILLS
