A BILL
To direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to publish a
report regarding veterans who receive benefits under laws
administered by the Secretary, disaggregated by sex and
minority group member status.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Improving Benefits
4
for Underserved Veterans Act’’.

SEC. 2. REPORT REGARDING VETERANS WHO RECEIVE

BENEFITS UNDER LAWS ADMINISTERED BY
2
THE SECRETARY OF VETERANS AFFAIRS.

(a) REPORT REQUIRED.—Not later than 180 days
4
after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary
5
of Veterans Affairs shall publish a report regarding vet-
6
erans who receive benefits under laws administered by the
7
Secretary, including the Transition Assistance Program
8
under sections 1142 and 1144 of title 10, United States
9
Code.

(b) DATA.—The data regarding veterans published in
11
the report under subsection (a)—
12
(1) shall be disaggregated by—
13
(A) sex; and
14
(B) minority group member status; and
15
(2) may not include any personally identifiable
16
information.

(c) MINORITY GROUP MEMBER DEFINED.—In this
18
section, the term ‘‘minority group member’’ has the mean-
19
ing given that term in section 544 of title 38, United
20
States Code.
