To allow the Coast Guard to consider the impacts of Hurri-
cane Michael for the purpose of modifying contracts for
offshore patrol cutters.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Restore Coast Guard
4
Capabilities Act’’.

SEC. 2. MODIFICATIONS TO CONTRACTS FOR OFFSHORE

PATROL CUTTERS PERMITTED BASED ON IM-

PACTS OF HURRICANE MICHAEL.

Notwithstanding Public Law 85–804, the United
4
States Coast Guard is authorized to take into account the
5
impacts of Hurricane Michael for the purpose of modi-
6
fying, without consideration, but not exceeding the origi-
7
nal affordability requirement as set forth in section C of
8
the existing contract to construct Offshore Patrol Cutters
9
upon a determination that doing so would facilitate na-
10
tional security.
