was read twice and referred to the Committee on Energy and Natural
Resources
A BILL
To designate a mountain in the State of Utah as ‘‘Miracle
Mountain’’.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Miracle Mountain Des-
4
ignation Act’’.

SEC. 2. FINDINGS.
6
Congress finds that—
7
(1) on September 13, 2018, the Bald Mountain
8
Fire burned nearly 20,000 acres of land in the State
9
of Utah;

(2) Elk Ridge City, which is located in Utah
1
County, Utah, was nearly the victim of the Bald
2
Mountain Fire, until the fire suddenly halted pro-
3
gression and, instead of burning into Elk Ridge
4
City, stayed behind the mountain and spared the
5
city;
6
(3) in acknowledgment of this event, the moun-
7
tain holds special significance to the residents of Elk
8
Ridge City, Utah, and surrounding communities;
9
and
10
(4) the presently unnamed peak has been re-
11
ferred to as ‘‘Miracle Mountain’’ by many residents
12
since the fire that nearly spread to Elk Ridge City,
13
Utah.

SEC. 3. MIRACLE MOUNTAIN.

(a) DESIGNATION.—The mountain in the State of
16
Utah, located at 39° 59′ 02N, 111° 40′ 12W, shall be
17
known and designated as ‘‘Miracle Mountain’’.

(b) REFERENCES.—Any reference in a law, map, reg-
19
ulation, document, record, or other paper of the United
20
States to the mountain described in subsection (a) shall
21
be considered to be a reference to ‘‘Miracle Mountain’’.
