SHORT TITLE. 1 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Easy Medication Ac- 2 cess and Treatment for Opioid Addiction Act’’ or the 3 ‘‘Easy MAT for Opioid Addiction Act’’. 4 SEC. 2. DISPENSATION OF NARCOTIC DRUGS FOR THE PUR- 5 POSE OF RELIEVING ACUTE WITHDRAWAL 6 SYMPTOMS FROM OPIOID USE DISORDER. 7 Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment 8 of this Act, the Attorney General shall revise section 9 1306.07(b) of title 21, Code of Federal Regulations, so 10 that practitioners, in accordance with applicable State, 11 Federal, or local laws relating to controlled substances, are 12 allowed to dispense not more than a three-day supply of 13 narcotic drugs to one person or for one person’s use at 14 one time for the purpose of initiating maintenance treat- 15 ment or detoxification treatment (or both). 16 SEC. 3.
