A BILL
To provide for the inclusion on the Vietnam Veterans Memo-
rial Wall of the names of the lost crew members of
the U.S.S. Frank E. Evans killed on June 3, 1969.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘U.S.S. Frank E. Evans

Act’’.

SEC. 2. INCLUSION ON THE VIETNAM VETERANS MEMO-

RIAL WALL OF THE NAMES OF THE LOST

CREW MEMBERS OF THE U.S.S. FRANK E.

EVANS KILLED ON JUNE 3, 1969.

(a) IN GENERAL.—Not later than 1 year after the
5
date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense
6
shall authorize the inclusion on the Vietnam Veterans Me-
7
morial Wall in the District of Columbia of the names of
8
the 74 crew members of the U.S.S. Frank E. Evans killed
9
on June 3, 1969.

(b) REQUIRED CONSULTATION.—The Secretary of
11
Defense shall consult with the Secretary of the Interior,
12
the American Battlefield Monuments Commission, and
13
other applicable authorities with respect to any adjust-
14
ments to the nomenclature and placement of names pursu-
15
ant to subsection (a) to address any space limitations on
16
the placement of additional names on the Vietnam Vet-
17
erans Memorial Wall.

(c) NONAPPLICABILITY OF COMMEMORATIVE WORKS
19
ACT.—Chapter 89 of title 40, United States Code (com-
20
monly known as the ‘‘Commemorative Works Act’’), shall
21
not apply to any activities carried out under subsection
22
(a) or (b).
