REAUTHORIZATION OF DIESEL EMISSIONS REDUC- 1 TION PROGRAM. 2 Section 797(a) of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (42 3 U.S.C. 16137(a)) is amended by striking ‘‘2016’’ and in- 4 serting ‘‘2024’’. 5 SEC. 3. RECOGNIZING DIFFERENCES IN DIESEL VEHICLE, 6 ENGINE, EQUIPMENT, AND FLEET USE. 7 (a) NATIONAL GRANT, REBATE, AND LOAN PRO- 8 GRAMS.—Section 792(c)(4)(D) of the Energy Policy Act 9 of 2005 (42 U.S.C. 16132(c)(4)(D)) is amended by insert- 10 ing ‘‘, recognizing differences in typical vehicle, engine, 11 equipment, and fleet use throughout the United States’’ 12 before the semicolon. 13 (b) STATE GRANT, REBATE, AND LOAN PRO- 14 GRAMS.—Section 793(b)(1) of the Energy Policy Act of 15 2005 (42 U.S.C. 16133(b)(1)) is amended— 16 (1) in subparagraph (B), by striking ‘‘; and’’ 17 and inserting a semicolon; and 18 (2) by adding at the end the following: 19 ‘‘(D) the recognition, for purposes of im- 20 plementing this section, of differences in typical 21 vehicle, engine, equipment, and fleet use 22 throughout the United States, including ex- 23 pected useful life; and’’. 24 VerDate Sep 11 2014 23:46 Apr 10, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\S747.RS S747 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42 with BILLS 3 •S 747 RS SEC. 4.
