A BILL
To prohibit the Department of Health and Human Services
from operating unlicensed temporary emergency shelters
for unaccompanied alien children.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Shut Down Child Pris-
4
on Camps Act’’.

SEC. 2. DEFINED TERM.

In this Act, the term ‘‘temporary emergency shelter’’
7
means an unlicensed care provider facility that provides
8
temporary emergency shelter and services for unaccom-

SEC. 3. PROHIBITION AGAINST TEMPORARY EMERGENCY

SHELTERS.

The Secretary of Health and Human Services shall
5
not maintain or operate (directly or through a contract)
6
any temporary emergency shelter, including the temporary
7
emergency shelter previously operational in Tornillo,
8
Texas, and the temporary emergency shelter in Home-
9
stead, Florida.
