VAWA GRANT PROGRAMS. 1 (a) STOP VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN FORMULA 2 GRANT PROGRAM.—Section 2001(b) of the Omnibus 3 Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (34 U.S.C. 4 10441(b)) is amended— 5 (1) in paragraph (1), by inserting ‘‘female gen- 6 ital mutilation,’’ after ‘‘domestic violence,’’; 7 (2) in paragraph (2), by inserting ‘‘female gen- 8 ital mutilation,’’ after ‘‘domestic violence,’’; 9 (3) in paragraph (3), by inserting ‘‘female gen- 10 ital mutilation,’’ after ‘‘domestic violence,’’; 11 (4) in paragraph (4), by inserting ‘‘female gen- 12 ital mutilation,’’ after ‘‘domestic violence,’’; 13 (5) in paragraph (5), by inserting ‘‘female gen- 14 ital mutilation,’’ after ‘‘domestic violence,’’ each 15 place it appears; 14 (B) in subsection (b)— 15 (i) in paragraph (2), by inserting ‘‘fe- 16 male genital mutilation,’’ after ‘‘sexual as- 17 sault,’’ each place it appears; and 18 (ii) in paragraph (3), by inserting ‘‘fe- 19 male genital mutilation,’’ after ‘‘sexual as- 20 sault,’’; and 19 (B) by striking ‘‘domestic violence, dating 20 violence, stalking, or sexual assault’’ and insert- 21 ing ‘‘domestic violence, dating violence, sexual 22 assault, female genital mutilation, or stalking’’. 23 (4) APPLICATIONS.—Section 2102(b) of the 24 Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 25 VerDate Sep 11 2014 01:08 Feb 15, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00005 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H960.IH H960 pamtmann on DSKBFK8HB2PROD with BILLS 6 •HR 960 IH 1968 (34 U.S.C. 10462(b)) is amended by inserting 1 ‘‘female genital mutilation,’’ after ‘‘sexual assault,’’ 2 each place it appears. 3 (e) LEGAL ASSISTANCE FOR VICTIMS.—Section 1201 4 of the Violence Against Women Act of 2000 (34 U.S.C. 5 20121) is amended by inserting ‘‘female genital mutila- 6 tion,’’ after ‘‘dating violence,’’ each place it appears. 7 (f) TRANSITIONAL HOUSING ASSISTANCE GRANTS.— 8 Section 40299 of the Violence Against Women Act of 1994 9 (34 U.S.C. 12351) is amended by inserting ‘‘female gen- 10 ital mutilation,’’ after ‘‘sexual assault,’’ each place it ap- 11 pears. 12 (g) FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION DEFINED.—Sec- 13 tion 40002(a) of the Violent Crime Control and Law En- 14 forcement Act of 1994 (34 U.S.C. 12291(a)) is amended 15 by adding at the end the following: 16 ‘‘(46) FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION.—The 17 term ‘female genital mutilation’ means the removal 18 or infibulation (or both) of the whole or part of the 19 clitoris, the labia minor, or the labia major.’’. 20 SEC. 3.
