and 24 VerDate Sep 11 2014 23:04 Jan 16, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00013 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\S66.IS S66 pbinns on DSK79D2C42PROD with BILLS 14 •S 66 IS ‘‘(B) does not include an attached tubular de- 1 vice designed to accept, and capable of operating 2 only with, .22 caliber rimfire ammunition.’’. 3 (b) RELATED DEFINITIONS.—Section 921(a) of title 4 18, United States Code, as amended by this Act, is 5 amended by adding at the end the following: 6 ‘‘(38) The term ‘barrel shroud’— 7 ‘‘(A) means a shroud that is attached to, or 8 partially or completely encircles, the barrel of a fire- 9 arm so that the shroud protects the user of the fire- 10 arm from heat generated by the barrel; and 11 ‘‘(B) does not include— 12 ‘‘(i) a slide that partially or completely en- 13 closes the barrel; or 14 ‘‘(ii) an extension of the stock along the 15 bottom of the barrel which does not encircle or 16 substantially encircle the barrel. 17 ‘‘(39) The term ‘detachable magazine’ means an am- 18 munition feeding device that can be removed from a fire- 19 arm without disassembly of the firearm action. 20 ‘‘(40) The term ‘fixed magazine’ means an ammuni- 21 tion feeding device that is permanently fixed to the firearm 22 in such a manner that it cannot be removed without dis- 23 assembly of the firearm. 24 VerDate Sep 11 2014 23:04 Jan 16, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00014 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\S66.IS S66 pbinns on DSK79D2C42PROD with BILLS 15 •S 66 IS ‘‘(41) The term ‘folding, telescoping, or detachable 1 stock’ means a stock that folds, telescopes, detaches or 2 otherwise operates to reduce the length, size, or any other 3 dimension, or otherwise enhances the concealability, of a 4 firearm. 5 ‘‘(42) The term ‘forward grip’ means a grip located 6 forward of the trigger that functions as a pistol grip. 7 ‘‘(43) The term ‘grenade launcher’ means an attach- 8 ment for use on a firearm that is designed to propel a 9 grenade or other similar destructive device. 10 ‘‘(44) The term ‘permanently inoperable [Text truncated for display.
