Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Appalachian Regional 4 Commission Relocation Act’’. 5 SEC. 2. FINDINGS. 6 Congress finds the following: 7 (1) Regional commissions, such as the Delta 8 Regional Authority, the Denali Commission, and the 9 VerDate Sep 11 2014 00:36 Jan 15, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00001 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H176.IH H176 pamtmann on DSKBFK8HB2PROD with BILLS 2 •HR 176 IH Northern Border Regional Commission, are each 1 headquartered in their respective region. 2 (2) Headquartering regional commissions with- 3 in the region affected is a sensible approach to en- 4 sure that the commissions are housed in more af- 5 fordable locations than the District of Columbia, 6 thereby reducing administrative overhead and mak- 7 ing the commissions closer and more accountable to 8 the people the commissions were designed to serve. 9 SEC. 3.
