Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Veterans Health Admin-
4
istration Leadership Transformation Act’’.

SEC. 2. OFFICE OF THE UNDER SECRETARY FOR HEALTH
6
OF THE DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AF-
7
FAIRS.

(a) TERM OF UNDER SECRETARY.—Section 305(a)(1)
9
of title 38, United States Code, is amended by adding at
10
the end the following new sentence: ‘‘An individual ap-
11
pointed to serve as the Under Secretary of Health shall be
12
appointed for a term of five years.’’.
13
(b) ELIMINATION OF CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS FOR
14
ASSISTANT UNDER SECRETARIES.—Section 7306 of such
15
title is amended—
16
(1) by striking subsection (b);
17
(2) by redesignating subsections (c) through (g)
18
as subsections (b) through (f), respectively; and
19
(3) in subsection (c), as so redesignated, by strik-
20
ing ‘‘subsection (e)’’ and inserting ‘‘subsection (d)’’.
