was referred to the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, and in addition to
the Committee on Armed Services, for a period to be subsequently deter-
mined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions
as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned
A BILL
To direct the Secretary of the Army to place in Arlington
National Cemetery a monument honoring Army Security
Agency veterans of World War II, the Korean conflict,
and the Vietnam Era, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Army Security Agency
4
Monument Act’’.

SEC. 2. PLACEMENT OF MONUMENT HONORING VETERANS

THE
ARMY
SECURITY
AGENCY
WHO

SERVED IN THE ARMED FORCES BETWEEN
3
1945 AND 1976, DURING WORLD WAR II, THE
4
KOREAN CONFLICT, AND THE VIETNAM ERA.

(a) IN GENERAL.—Subject to the requirements of
6
subsection (c), the Secretary of the Army shall place in
7
Arlington National Cemetery a monument honoring Army
8
Security Agency veterans who served in the Armed Forces
9
between 1945 and 1976, during World War II, the Korean
10
conflict, and the Vietnam era.
11
(b) DESIGN.—The monument placed under sub-
12
section (a) shall be based on a design approved by the
13
Secretary of the Army and the National Army Security
14
Agency Association.

(c) AGREEMENT FOR CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTE-
16
NANCE.—The Secretary of the Army may only place a
17
monument under subsection (a) if the Secretary enters
18
into an agreement with the National Army Security Agen-
19
cy Association under which the Association agrees to pay
20
all costs necessary for preparation of the site for the
21
monument and to construct, install, and maintain the
22
monument, and to such other provisions as the Secretary
23
may require.
24
(d) DEFINITIONS.—In this section, the terms ‘‘World
25
War II’’, ‘‘Korean conflict’’, and ‘‘Vietnam era’’ have the
