ROSIE THE RIVETER/WORLD WAR II HOME 1 FRONT NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK ADDI- 2 TIONS. 3 (a) SHORT TITLE.—This Act may be cited as the 4 ‘‘Rosie the Riveter National Historic Site Expansion Act’’. 5 (b) ADDITIONS.—The Rosie the Riveter/World War 6 II Home Front National Historical Park Establishment 7 Act of 2000 (16 U.S.C. 410ggg et seq.) is amended as 8 follows: 9 (1) In section 2(b), by adding at the end the 10 following: ‘‘Not later than 180 days after areas are 11 added to the park administratively or by Federal 12 law, the Secretary shall update the map to include 13 the added areas.’’. 14 (2) By adding at the end of section 2, the fol- 15 lowing: 16 ‘‘(c) ADDITIONAL AREAS INCLUDED.—In addition to 17 areas included under subsection (b), the park shall include 18 the following: 19 ‘‘(1) The Nystrom Elementary School–The 20 Maritime Building, as listed on the National Reg- 21 ister of Historic Places. 22 ‘‘(2) Such other areas as the Secretary deems 23 appropriate.’’. 24 (3) By amending section 3(e)(2) to read as fol- 25 lows: 26 VerDate Sep 11 2014 21:08 Oct 18, 2022 Jkt 039200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6401 E:\BILLS\S1718.RS S1718 pamtmann on DSKBC07HB2PROD with BILLS 3 •S 1718 RS ‘‘(2) OTHER PROPERTY.—Within the bound- 1 aries of the park, the Secretary may acquire lands, 2 improvements, waters, or interests therein, by dona- 3 tion, purchase, exchange or transfer. Any lands, or 4 interests therein, owned by the State of California or 5 any political subdivision thereof, may be acquired 6 only by donation. When any tract of land is only 7 partly within such boundaries, the Secretary may ac- 8 quire all or any portion of the land outside of such 9 boundaries in order to minimize the payment of sev- 10 erance costs. Land so acquired outside of the bound- 11 aries may be exchanged by the Secretary for non- 12 Federal lands within the boundaries. Any portion of 13 land acquired outside the boundaries and not used 14 for exchange shall be reported to the General Serv- 15 ices Administration for disposal for not less than 16 fair market value under chapter 1 of title 40, United 17 States Code.’’. 18 SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 19 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Rosie the Riveter Na- 20 tional Historical Park Expansion Act’’. 21 SEC. 2. NYSTROM ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ADDITION. 22 Section 2 of the Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home 23 Front National Historical Park Establishment Act of 2000 24 VerDate Sep 11 2014 21:08 Oct 18, 2022 Jkt 039200 PO 00000 Frm 00003 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6203 E:\BILLS\S1718.RS S1718 pamtmann on DSKBC07HB2PROD with BILLS 4 •S 1718 RS (16 U.S.C. 410ggg) is amended by striking subsection (b) 1 and inserting the following: 2 ‘‘(b) AREAS INCLUDED.— 3 ‘‘(1) IN GENERAL.—The boundaries of the park 4 shall include— 5 ‘‘(A)(i) the areas generally depicted on the 6 map entitled ‘Proposed Boundary Map, Rosie 7 the Riveter/World War II Home Front National 8 Historical Park’, numbered 963/80,000, and 9 dated May 2000; and 10 ‘‘(ii) the areas depicted as the ‘Proposed 11 Boundary Addition’ on the map entitled ‘Rosie 12 the Riveter/World War II Home Front National 13 Historical Park Proposed Boundary Addition’, 14 numbered 499/168,353, and dated May 2020; 15 and 16 ‘‘(B) any other historic properties identified 17 by the Secretary as appropriate for addition to 18 the park, subject to the requirement that a his- 19 toric property proposed for addition to the park 20 shall— 21 ‘‘(i) be determined to be eligible for 22 listing in the National Register of Historic 23 Places; 24 VerDate Sep 11 2014 21:08 Oct 18, 2022 Jkt 039200 PO 00000 Frm 00004 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6203 E:\BILLS\S1718.RS S1718 pamtmann on DSKBC07HB2PROD with BILLS 5 •S 1718 RS ‘‘(ii) have a direct connection to World 1 War II home front themes in Richmond, 2 California; and 3 ‘‘(iii) relate to the purpose, signifi- 4 cance, and interpretive themes of the park. 5 ‘‘(2) AVAILABILITY OF MAPS.—The maps referred 6 to in paragraph (1) shall be on file and available for 7 public inspection in the appropriate offices of the Na- 8 tional Park Service.’’. 9 SEC. 3. ADMINISTRATION. 10 Section 3(a) of the Rosie the Riveter/World War II 11 Home Front National Historical Park Establishment Act 12 of 2000 (16 U.S.C. 410ggg–1(a)) is amended by adding at 13 the end the following: 14 ‘‘(3) NYSTROM ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.—Nothing 15 in this Act affects the authority of the West Contra 16 Costa Unified School District to administer Nystrom 17 Elementary School.’’. 18 SEC. 4.
