To amend the microloan program of the Small Business
Act to define State, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Northern Mariana Is-
4
lands Entrepreneurship Act of 2021’’.
5
SEC. 2. MICROLOAN PROGRAM; DEFINITIONS.

Paragraph (11) of section 7(m) of the Small Business
7
Act (15 U.S.C. 636(m)(11)) is amended—

(1) in clause (ii) of subparagraph (C), by strik-

ing ‘‘rural’’ and all that follows to the end of the
2
clause and inserting ‘‘rural;’’;
3
(2) in subparagraph (D), by striking the period
4
at the end and inserting ‘‘; and’’; and
5
(3) by adding at the end the following new sub-
6
paragraph:

‘‘(E) the term ‘State’ means each of the
8
several States, the District of Columbia, the
9
Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Is-
10
lands of the United States, Guam, the Com-
11
monwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands,
12
and American Samoa.’’.
