Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. CARRYING OF CONCEALED FIREARMS BY QUALI- 1 FIED RETIRED LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFI- 2 CERS. 3 Section 926C of title 18, United States Code, is 4 amended by adding at the end the following new sub- 5 section: 6 ‘‘(f) Notwithstanding any other provision of the law 7 of any State or any political subdivision thereof, an indi- 8 vidual shall be a ‘qualified retired law enforcement officer’ 9 under subsection (c), for the calendar years 2021 and 10 2022, if such retired law enforcement officer meets the 11 standards for qualification in firearms training for an ac- 12 tive duty law enforcement officer to carry a firearm, as 13 determined by the former agency of the individual, the 14 State in which the individual resides, or if the State has 15 not established such standards either a law enforcement 16 agency within the State in which the individual resides or 17 the standards used by a certified firearms instructor that 18 is qualified to conduct a firearms qualification test for ac- 19 tive duty officers in that State, at the expense of such 20 individual, during the calendar year 2019.’’. 21 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 20:36 Jun 09, 2021 Jkt 019200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H2960.IH H2960 pamtmann on DSKBC07HB2PROD with BILLS
