To amend the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act to ensure protec-
tions for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer youth and their

Mr. KAINE (for himself and Ms. BALDWIN) introduced the following bill;

A BILL
To amend the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act
to
ensure
protections
for
lesbian,
gay,
bisexual,
transgender, and queer youth and their families.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Protecting LGBTQ
4
Youth Act’’.
5
SEC. 2. AMENDMENTS TO CAPTA.

The Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (42
7
U.S.C. 5101 et seq.) is amended—

(1) in section 104 (42 U.S.C. 5105)—
