SHORT TITLE. 1 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Bonneville Shoreline 2 Trail Advancement Act’’. 3 SEC. 2. WILDERNESS AREA INCLUDED IN MOUNT OLYMPUS 4 WILDERNESS. 5 Section 102(a) of the Utah Wilderness Act of 1984 6 (Public Law 98–428; 98 Stat. 1657; 16 U.S.C. 1132 note) 7 is amended— 8 (1) in paragraph (11), by striking ‘‘and’’ at the 9 end; 10 (2) in paragraph (12), by striking the period at 11 the end and inserting ‘‘; and’’; and 12 (3) by adding at the end the following: 13 ‘‘(13) certain lands in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache 14 National Forest which comprise approximately 15 326.27 acres as generally depicted on a map entitled 16 the ‘Bonneville Shoreline Trail Legislative Map’ 17 dated July 9, 2020, are, subject to valid existing 18 rights, hereby incorporated as part of the Mount 19 Olympus Wilderness designated under paragraph 20 (3).’’. 21 SEC. 3. WILDERNESS BOUNDARY ADJUSTMENTS. 22 (a) MOUNT NAOMI WILDERNESS BOUNDARY AD- 23 JUSTMENT.— 24 (1) ADJUSTMENT.—Section 102 of the Utah 25 Wilderness Act of 1984 (Public Law 98–428, 98 26 VerDate Sep 11 2014 02:20 Jan 04, 2023 Jkt 039200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H2551.RDS H2551 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS 3 HR 2551 RDS Stat. 1657, 16 U.S.C. 1132 note) is amended by 1 adding at the end the following: 2 ‘‘(c) MOUNT NAOMI WILDERNESS BOUNDARY AD- 3 JUSTMENT.—Certain lands in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache 4 National Forest which comprise approximately 11.17 5 acres as generally depicted on a map entitled the ‘Bonne- 6 ville Shoreline Trail Legislative Map’, dated July 9, 2020, 7 are hereby removed from the Mount Naomi Wilderness 8 designated under subsection (a)(1).’’. 9 (2) MANAGEMENT.—The Mount Naomi Wilder- 10 ness, as designated under section 102(a)(1) of the 11 Utah Wilderness Act of 1984 (Public Law 98–428; 12 98 Stat. 1658; 16 U.S.C. 1132 note) and adjusted 13 under paragraph (1), effective beginning on the date 14 of the enactment of this Act, shall be managed as 15 part of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. 16 (b) MOUNT OLYMPUS WILDERNESS BOUNDARY AD- 17 JUSTMENT.— 18 (1) ADJUSTMENT.—Section 102 of the Utah 19 Wilderness Act of 1984 (Public Law 98–428; 98 20 Stat. 1657; 16 U.S.C. 1132 note), as amended by 21 subsection (a), is further amended by adding the at 22 the end the following: 23 ‘‘(d) MOUNT OLYMPUS WILDERNESS BOUNDARY AD- 24 JUSTMENT.—Certain lands in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache 25 VerDate Sep 11 2014 02:20 Jan 04, 2023 Jkt 039200 PO 00000 Frm 00003 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H2551.RDS H2551 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS 4 HR 2551 RDS National Forest which comprise approximately 197.4 1 acres as generally depicted on a map entitled the ‘Bonne- 2 ville Shoreline Trail Legislative Map’, dated July 9, 2020, 3 are hereby removed from the Mount Olympus Wilderness 4 designated under subsection (a)(3).’’. 5 (2) MANAGEMENT.—The Mount Olympus Wil- 6 derness, as designated under section 102(a)(3) of 7 the Utah Wilderness Act of 1984 (Public Law 98– 8 428; 98 Stat. 1658; 16 U.S.C. 1132 note) and ad- 9 justed under paragraph (1), effective beginning on 10 the date of the enactment of this Act, shall be man- 11 aged as part of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National 12 Forest. 13 (c) TWIN PEAKS WILDERNESS BOUNDARY ADJUST- 14 MENT.— 15 (1) ADJUSTMENT.—Section 102 of the Utah 16 Wilderness Act of 1984 (Public Law 98–428, 98 17 Stat. 1657, 16 U.S.C. 1132 note), as amended by 18 subsections (a) and (b), is further amended by add- 19 ing at the end the following: 20 ‘‘(e) TWIN PEAKS WILDERNESS BOUNDARY ADJUST- 21 MENT.—Certain lands in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache Na- 22 tional Forest which comprise approximately 9.8 acres as 23 generally depicted on a map entitled the ‘Bonneville 24 Shoreline Trail Legislative Map’, dated July 9, 2020, are 25 VerDate Sep 11 2014 02:20 Jan 04, 2023 Jkt 039200 PO 00000 Frm 00004 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H2551.RDS H2551 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS 5 HR 2551 RDS hereby removed from the Twin Peaks Wilderness des- 1 ignated under subsection (a)(4).’’. 2 (2) MANAGEMENT.—The Twin Peaks Wilder- 3 ness, as designated under section 102(a)(4) of the 4 Utah Wilderness Act of 1984 (Public Law 98–428; 5 98 Stat. 1658; 16 U.S.C. 1132 note) and adjusted 6 under paragraph (1), effective beginning on the date 7 of the enactment of this Act, shall be managed as 8 part of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. 9 (d) LONE PEAK WILDERNESS BOUNDARY ADJUST- 10 MENT.— 11 (1) ADJUSTMENT.—Section 2 of the Endan- 12 gered American Wilderness Act of 1978 (Public Law 13 95–237; 92 Stat. 42; 16 U.S.C. 1132 note) is 14 amended— 15 (A) in subsection (j), by striking ‘‘and’’ at 16 the end; 17 (B) in subsection (k), by striking the pe- 18 riod at the end and inserting ‘‘; and’’; and 19 (C) by adding at the end the following: 20 ‘‘(l) certain lands in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache Na- 21 tional Forest, Utah, which comprise approximately 107.9 22 acres as generally depicted on a map entitled the ‘Bonne- 23 ville Shoreline Trail Legislative Map’, dated July 9, 2020, 24 VerDate Sep 11 2014 02:20 Jan 04, 2023 Jkt 039200 PO 00000 Frm 00005 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H2551.RDS H2551 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS 6 HR 2551 RDS are hereby removed from the Lone Peak Wilderness Area 1 designated under subsection (i).’’. 2 (2) MANAGEMENT.—The Lone Peak Wilderness 3 Area, as designated under section 2(i) of the Endan- 4 gered American Wilderness Act of 1978 (Public Law 5 95–237; 92 Stat. 42; 16 U.S.C. 1132 note) and ad- 6 justed under paragraph (1), effective beginning on 7 the date of the enactment of this Act, shall be man- 8 aged as part of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National 9 Forest. 10 SEC. 4. MAP. 3 (a) MAP ON FILE.—The map entitled the ‘‘Bonneville 4 Shoreline Trail Legislative Map’’, dated July 9, 2020, 5 shall be on file and available for inspection in the office 6 of the Chief of the Forest Service. 7 (b) CORRECTIONS.—The Secretary of Agriculture 8 may make technical corrections to the map described in 9 subsection (a). 10 Passed the House of Representatives December 12, 2022.
