Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. INFORMATION PROVIDED BY DEPARTMENT OF VET- 1 ERANS AFFAIRS ABOUT POSTSECONDARY 2 EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS. 3 (a) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO BE PROVIDED.— 4 Subsection (c) of section 3698 of title 38, United States 5 Code, is amended— 6 (1) in paragraph (1)(C)— 7 (A) in clause (xi), by striking ‘‘and’’ at the 8 end; 9 (B) in clause (xii), by striking the period 10 and inserting a semicolon; and 11 (C) by adding at the end the following new 12 clauses: 13 ‘‘(xiii) whether the institution is listed on 14 the College Navigator website as affiliated with 15 a religion and, if so, which religious denomina- 16 tion; 17 ‘‘(xiv) whether the Secretary of Education 18 or other head of a department or agency of the 19 Federal Government has determined that the 20 institution is a minority serving institution and, 21 if so, which one or more types of minority serv- 22 ing institutions; and 23 ‘‘(xv) whether the institution is gender spe- 24 cific.’’; and 25 VerDate Sep 11 2014 23:40 May 27, 2021 Jkt 019200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H2492.IH H2492 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS 3 •HR 2492 IH (2) in paragraph (2), by adding at the end the 1 following new sentence: ‘‘To the extent practicable, 2 the Secretary shall ensure that such information is 3 provided in a searchable format.’’. 4 (b) DEFINITION.—Subsection (f) of such section is 5 amended by adding at the end the following new para- 6 graphs: 7 ‘‘(3) The term ‘College Navigator website’ has 8 the meaning given that term in section 132 of the 9 Higher Education Act (20 U.S.C. 1015a). 10 ‘‘(4) The term ‘minority serving institution’ 11 means any of the following: 12 ‘‘(A) A part B institution, as such term is 13 defined in section 322(2) of the Higher Edu- 14 cation Act (20 U.S.C. 1061(2)). 15 ‘‘(B) A Hispanic-serving institution, as 16 such term is defined in section 502(a)(5) of 17 such Act (20 U.S.C. 1101a(5)). 18 ‘‘(C) A Tribal College or University, as 19 such term is defined in section 316(b)(3) of 20 such Act (20 U.S.C. 1059c(b)(3)). 21 ‘‘(D) A predominantly Black institution, as 22 such term is defined in section 318(b)(6) of 23 such Act (20 U.S.C. 1059e(b)(6)). 24 VerDate Sep 11 2014 23:40 May 27, 2021 Jkt 019200 PO 00000 Frm 00003 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H2492.IH H2492 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS 4 •HR 2492 IH ‘‘(E) A Native American-serving, nontribal 1 institution, as such term is defined in section 2 319(b)(2) of such Act (20 U.S.C. 1059f(b)(6)). 3 ‘‘(F) An Alaska Native-serving institution 4 or Native Hawaiian-serving institution, as such 5 terms are defined in section 317(b) of such Act 6 (20 U.S.C. 1059d(b)). 7 ‘‘(G) An Asian American and Native 8 American Pacific Islander-serving institution, as 9 such term is defined in section 320(b) of such 10 Act (20 U.S.C. 1059g(b)).’’. 11 (c) APPLICATION.—The amendments made by this 12 section shall apply with respect to the information pro- 13 vided under section 3698 of title 38, United States Code, 14 beginning on the date that is 2 years after the date of 15 the enactment of this Act. 16 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 23:40 May 27, 2021 Jkt 019200 PO 00000 Frm 00004 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H2492.IH H2492 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS
