United States Capitol Police Wellness Promotion Act

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. WELLNESS SERVICES FOR UNITED STATES CAPITOL 1 POLICE OFFICERS. 2 (a) PROHIBITING RETALIATION AGAINST OFFICERS 3 WHO SEEK OR RECEIVE WELLNESS SERVICES.—The 4 Chief of the United States Capitol Police may not retaliate 5 or impose any disciplinary action against an officer of the 6 Capitol Police on the grounds that the officer sought or 7 received trauma counseling or other wellness services. 8 (b) USE OF VENDORS TO PROVIDE SERVICES.—The 9 Chief of the United States Capitol Police shall investigate 10 the feasibility and desirability of using vendors to provide 11 trauma counseling and other mental health counseling and 12 evaluation services to officers of the Capitol Police. 13 (c) AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS.—There 14 are authorized to be appropriated to the United States 15 Capitol Police such sums as may be necessary for the pro- 16 vision of trauma counseling and other mental health coun- 17 seling and evaluation services to officers of the Capitol Po- 18 lice. 19 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 05:32 May 27, 2021 Jkt 019200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H2389.IH H2389 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS
