MEMBERSHIP OF TAIWAN AT THE UNITED NATIONS. 1 (a) IN GENERAL.—Notwithstanding any other provi- 2 sion of law, effective on the date of the enactment of this 3 Act, the United States shall withhold all assessed and vol- 4 untary contributions to the United Nations until such time 5 as the membership of the People’s Republic of China in 6 the World Health Organization is terminated and the Re- 7 public of China (Taiwan) is afforded full rights, privileges, 8 and responsibilities as a Member State in the United Na- 9 tions. 10 (b) PRESIDENTIAL ACTION.—The President is au- 11 thorized to take any appropriate action to carry out sub- 12 section (a). 13 (c) ACTIONS AT THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZA- 14 TION.—The President shall direct the United States rep- 15 resentative to the World Health Organization to use the 16 voice, vote, and influence of the United States at the 17 World Health Organization to encourage Members States 18 of the United Nations to take actions identical or similar 19 to the action described in subsection (a). 20 (d) NO EFFECT ON THE UNITED STATES IN THE 21 WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION.—United States mem- 22 bership in the United Nations shall not be affected in any 23 way by any action under this section. 24 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 00:58 Mar 22, 2021 Jkt 019200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H1169.IH H1169 ctelli on DSK11ZRN23PROD with BILLS
