Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. INADMISSIBILITY FOR ALIENS SEEKING CITIZEN- 1 SHIP FOR CHILDREN BY GIVING BIRTH IN 2 THE UNITED STATES. 3 Section 212(a)(10) of the Immigration and Nation- 4 ality Act (8 U.S.C. 1182(a)(10)) is amended by adding 5 at the end the following: 6 ‘‘(F) ALIENS SEEKING CITIZENSHIP FOR 7 CHILDREN BY GIVING BIRTH IN THE UNITED 8 STATES.— 9 ‘‘(i) IN GENERAL.—Any alien seeking 10 admission as a nonimmigrant under sec- 11 tion 101(a)(15)(B) for the primary pur- 12 pose of obtaining United States citizenship 13 for a child by giving birth to the child in 14 the United States is inadmissible. 15 ‘‘(ii) RULE OF CONSTRUCTION.— 16 Nothing in this subparagraph may be con- 17 strued to render inadmissible an alien 18 seeking legitimate medical treatment relat- 19 ing to childbirth if obtaining citizenship for 20 the child is not the primary purpose for 21 seeking admission.’’. 22 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 23:21 Feb 03, 2021 Jkt 019200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\S17.IS S17 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS
